About Distorted Pictures
Distorted Pictures is an independent production company based in Stockholm, producing fiction, documentary and artist-driven cinema. Our films have premiered and screened at festivals including Berlinale, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Cannes, SXSW and Thessaloniki. We work with filmmakers whose projects combine distinctive cinematic form with stories that cross cultural and geographical borders.

Meet the Producers

    Director & Producer

    Babak was born in Tehran and is based in Stockholm. Babak studied film producing at Lund university (2010-2012) and holds masters in film directing from Stockholms school of dramatic arts (SKH).

    His work has been shown at Berlinale, SXSW and Rotterdam film festival to name a few.

  • Irene studied animation at Konstfack (2003-2005) and graduated from the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (2012-2015) with a Bachelor of Arts in Documentary Filmmaking and (2021-2023) with a Master in fiction direction. A selection of films include: Killing R, 2024 (official selection Göteborgs film festival 2024), I wanted a family, 2021 (Awarded at Tempo Short doc) They call me Navy, 2020, Pinocchio Without a Nose, 2012, (awarded Tempo New Doc) and The Brightest Star (2005, awarded 1:st Prize at the November Film Festival).

    Sina has produced several shorts and features.

    He was born in Tehran and lives in Stockholm. His films have been selected to Berlinale, Rotterdam and Cannes to name a few.
